Are You Spiritually Deaf or Blind?

The popular phrase goes "seeing is believing" but what are you actually seeing? But most importantly can you believe everything that you see with the naked eyes?

In Ephesians 6:12, Apostle Paul writes For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Simply put, everything is spiritual.

As children of God we have to be able to recognize and discern every spirit so that we are not caught in the enemy's trap.

When Peter said to Jesus that he didn't want him to die, Jesus didn't rebuke Peter, he rebuked the devil instead because he knew whose voice it was that was trying to stop him from doing the will of God.

Sometimes these voices come in subtle discouragement from a friend or family member that is "only looking out for you" but realistically no one should ever be speaking doubt over your life! When that teacher or lecturer makes the remark that you will fail the semester rebuke that voice because children of God are not failures!

For some of us word curses were spoken over our lives ever since we were children all wrapped up in trauma and abuse, and if we are not careful we too can start to emulate those words in our adult lives.

We must be watchful and prayerful, having ears that hear beyond the physical and eyes that see far beyond a mischievous co-worker, a rebellious child, or a quarrelsome spouse. That is one of the main reasons why as Christians we can't just watch any movie or listen to any song because our eyes and ears are gates to the mind and soul.

My prayer for us is that we become more spiritually aware and prepare ourselves to stand against the wiles of the enemy.
